That is all... / Eto vse ...

I'm in Amsterdam.  I've been here for about 15 hours and I have about two till takeoff.  I've had a good time, I smoked a couple joints and walked around the city and then slept in the airport for about 7 hours, then internetted, then ate.  I'm beginning to feel like shit.  Jet lag is going to hit me hard, I can tell.  At least I'm flying in World Business Class!  I totally feel like a princess.  My bags were too heavy, and although it was Russia and they couldn't figure it out right away, I didn't have to pay extra.  That was pretty sweet.  Also, I had three seats to myself on the first flight.  ANd when you're in World Business Class, they treat you like you are very special.  It's very nice, I am very lucky.  I hope I get the ones with the beds on my 8 hour flight; I'm not sure if I will, but it would be sweet.

I'm starting to feel some anxiety about going home.  You know, the usual transition anxiety.  I just think I'm going to be not very happy after my flight.  ugh.  Merry Christmas Eve to me.  I have three Euros and 60 cents.  What should I spend it on?

I forgot about the security restrictions, because they don't have them in Russia, and I got my mascara taken away from me.  I'm very sad about it.  Now I have to buy crappy cheap mascara.  Oh!  Maybe I will buy it duty free!  Too bad it's not going to be 3.6 euros.  So you better quit reading now, because I'm going to blab for the next hour before I go to my gate.

So my last week in RUssia:

I went to half of an opera on Friday, Dec. 16.  La Boheme or in Russian: Богем.  Then I went to a concert.  Trippy Rock I will call it, although the band was called silence kit.  It was fun.  Then Anna and I went to our favorite cafe, the genie.  I love it there.  Although their food is shit.  ha.  Saturday I went to the biggest garage sale ever.  Ha it was a huge flea market of second hand stuff and I don't know how to describe to you how big it was.  It was huge.  Piles and piles and piles and piles and piles and piles and piles and piles of clothes.  I bought some пластинкы, книги, и две рубашкы (records, books, and two shirts).  I also bought other stuff at the normal market, leg warmers, socks for my new baby cousin, tapushki(тапушки it's really sad that I don't know how to spell that word in Russian because it's an important thing, they are house shoes, and very important to house culture in RUssia, usually people have tapushki for their guests, but my hosts never gave them to me so I had to buy them, oh no!  40 rubles (a dollar fifty)  Then I hung out at home for the night.  I can't remember what I did sunday, except write a paper, partially in Anna's study den.  Monday I wrote a paper.  Tuesday I hung out while Anna packed.  Wedneday Anna and I had a finnish or finish party.  I bought a whole bunch of finnish stuff in finland and we were finished with school.  It was great, because then we got to have a sleepover!  Our first one in petersburg!  Her woman had gone to Israel and the woman staying there said we could.  But of course my woman yelled at me anyway, "I don't think Natasha is glad about your night party)  Thursday I drank a lot with the boys.  Oh and I went back to City Bar finally.  ha.  It was a nice reconcile, but weird to be back there.  Friday I went to the book market and bought souvenirs but had a difficult time making decisions.  I hope I bought enough stuff.  I forgot about some of the most important gifts though, that sucks.  I bought tons more Cds including the best Russian/Soviet Rock bands.

Ah!  I don't want to fly for 8 hours!

ok, so ten more minutes of babble:

Then friday night I packed and was harrassed by my host brother's friend.  It was entertaining.  I only wish I had better stories of my last night in SPB.

Things I wish I had done in SPB:
gone to Anna Akhmatova's apartment museum
Seen the Movie: Pushkin's Last Duel
Gone to the Hermitage one last time
             Something else I can't remember

My Christmas List:

Cell Phone.

That's all.
I was thinking that maybe it would be nice to not have one, but I don't think it's possible to not have one.  I'm not organized enough.

Ok I think I can go to my gate now!  Yea!

ïîñëåäíàÿ íåäåëÿ

Last week of school!  Yea!  My school has great planning, and they gave us our hardest tests tomorrow and a paper due!  I'm so happy about it!  I'm doing fine though, my paper will be good, I have a lot of research, and I'm pumped with caffeine and drugs!  I'm still happy in Russia, and I'm also ready to go home.  So it's a very good deal!  I don't have much to write, except about Ballet (which is what my paper is on) I'm just taking a little break.  Maybe I will think of something to write in an hour of writing about ballet.  vbeuiwgvbchaèìíûïéïêûïðàóãéäbvlsbgfnfd

I'm so good!  It's only midnight!

Helsinki Shmelshinki

I went to Helsinki this past weekend.  Visited Lindsey Persons who is studying there and had a lovely time!  Can you believe she has managed to escape Augsburg for three semesters!?!  I think she is a queen for that!  Plus she has tons of incredible friends in Helsinki from all over who celebrate her birth as much as possible!  It was nice to be out of RUssia for a weekend anyway.  And I bought cheddar cheese!

I hate school.  I have a presentation and quiz in the same class thursday... paper due monday... paper due tuesday two tests... two tests wednesday... Ah!

Oh well, at least they shouldn't be too hard.  And I have done a lot of work tonight so I get to go drink free champange!  Yea!

In St. Petersburg I still have to go see rasputin's penis, to the Sigmund Freud museum of dreams and Anna Akhmatova apartment museum, climb the collonade of St. Isaacs cathedral, eat lots more dill, drink lots more vodka, go to the book market to spend lots of денги.  Maybe I will go see mammoths at the Zoological museum, or to the free geological museum.  I don't know.  So much to do, so little time. Поэтому, I am not ready to leave.

Not to mention that I will be sad to leave Anna to be eaten by St. Petersburg.  I will also miss beautiful buildings, walking along the fontanka and moika, getting drunk at the idiot, two for one sushi and alexandra, vodka at the park by the lake, walking through mud, smolny sobor in all it's blue glory, irina and nina, cheap cds, speaking russian and studying russian grammar, observing russians, getting yelled at by babushkas, german men, and others, chasing muscovite men, warming up by the fire that never stops, going to the bathroom and taking a shower in separate rooms, spending hours reading the titles of the books on the bookshelf, coffee as a rare commodity, study parties with anna, craft parties with anna, the republic of anna (although the first regime is long gone and the second regime will never begin), I will miss being so close to heaven (Sochi) and hell (the rest of russia) at the same time, the club Mod - and Novus (even though it is defunct), chill out cafe, metro, smoking EVERYWHERE, cheap developing of film, and precariousness.  America will be so boring after this.

Anyway...  I'm paying for this so I better go.

So i don't hate Russia so much anymore... I feel pity for it now.  I really see it as a whole, despite it's non-homogenousness.  I have maybe seventeen days left here...
